Welcome to St. Francis de Sales Youth Catechesis!

The Mission of St. Francis de Sales Catechesis
Every human heart desires God: to know Him, to be loved by Him, to enter into a relationship with Him. This is particularly true for children and youth who can often understand this innate human desire better than most adults. For this reason, the mission of St. Francis de Sales Catechesis is to create a home, school, and path for young disciples to be able to encounter God, particularly in the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Through human, spiritual, intellectual, and practical formation, these students are prepared not only to know their faith, but to live it in the world.  At St. Francis de Sales, together with you, the parents, we desire to fulfill the call of Jesus who says: “Let the children come to me.” (Matthew 19:14)

Program Overview
Catechesis at St. Francis de Sales consists primarily of formation classes for students in 1st - 12th grade. Students in 1st grade and older may begin the two year preparation program for First Communion. Students in 7th grade and older may begin the two year preparation program for Confirmation (and First Communion if needed). Students who have already received First Communion but are not old enough to begin Confirmation preparation, are encouraged to participate in Post-Communion classes.
Sessions and Class Schedule
The assigned session is based on which grade they are in school. Please see the chart to know what session corresponds to your child.
